About the Role

As a Data Architect in our Commercial Data and Analytics team, you’ll be responsible for the data architecture capabilities for Commercial Data & Analytics. You will collaborate with architects within the Commercial Division and across the enterprise to ensure that the target Commercial data architecture meets the divisions’ needs and aligns with the ANZ data strategy and data architecture standards.
 

The Commercial Data & Analytics team is at a critical juncture in the journey to “cloud”.  This role will play a pivotal role in the successful development and delivery of the strategic state Commercial Data ecosystem.

What will your day look like?

• Define and maintain Commercial’s Data Architecture, Data Model, and Taxonomies based on business requirements.
• Work across multiple teams, use cases, and business applications to develop an architecture that drives business value and provides flexibility to the data platform.
• Provide data leadership to business and technology teams across the bank, enabling informed decision making and alignment with the target Commercial data architecture.
• Strong presentation and collaboration skills are required to effectively foster a deep understanding and partnership.
• Be a champion of ANZ's data strategy and promote its application inside and outside of the Commercial Data & Analytics team.
• Reduce non-financial risk by uplifting data, processes, systems and controls.
• Influence stakeholders to drive understanding and awareness of data architecture requirements.
• Delivering against committed milestones.
• Identify and address constraints that hinder progress, escalating as appropriate.
• Ensure ANZ's core values are always maintained in dealing with staff, colleagues and customers

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
 

• Have a strong understanding of Data Mesh, Data Products, Observability, Data Modelling, Data Profiling, Data Quality and Data Governance.
• Have a sound understanding of modern Data and Analytics Platforms with demonstrable experience with industry standards and frameworks such as DAMA’s DMBOK, DCAM, TOGAF, BIAN, and BIZBOK.
• Have a good understanding of Cloud technologies (i.e., GCP and AWS), with focus on approaches for building out business solutions in the context of an enterprise solution.
• Have a solid understanding of the significance of data lineage and an ability to apply it in order to ensure data accuracy and facilitate regulatory compliance.
• Incorporate the full range of enterprise data governance capabilities into the provided architectural directions.
• Represent the architecture team in internal decision forums and external architectural forums.
• Have a good understanding of enterprise and solution architecture concepts and design practices.
• Expert ability to understand and resolve complex problems. 
• Able to balance delivery pressures with strategic intent.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communications skills. Comfortable influencing at both technical and non-technical levels within a large organisation.
