Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.

About the Role

As the leader of the Operational Risk and Compliance (OR&C) team for the Markets business, you will provide robust compliance and regulatory advice to the Markets teams globally, ensuring effective review and challenge and oversight. Your expertise will be crucial in advising on compliance, regulatory, and conduct risk, and in strengthening Market’s risk maturity levels through proactive review, challenge, and strategic advice.

You will foster strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders, including the Global Head of Markets, Risk and Desk Risk Managers (DRMs), Business Governance and Controls (BG&C), and Internal Audit partners. Your participation in business risk and governance forums will be crucial, as you provide clear insights on the adequacy and maturity of compliance management and offer strategic advice on regulatory changes and risk management.

As a senior member of the Institutional OR&C team, your leadership and collaboration skills will be vital in driving and supporting initiatives across ANZ, beyond your direct area of responsibility.

This role is a designated Material Risk Person (MRP) under the MAS Guidelines on Individual Accountability and Conduct (GIAC) and will assist the Senior Manager (SM) accountable for the Core Management Functions of Chief Risk Officer, Head of Compliance and Head of Financial Crime Prevention for the ANZ Singapore Branch. This MRP role is responsible for timely escalation to SMs to assist SM’s in discharging their accountabilities.

  • Lead engagement with regulators across multiple jurisdictions, including Australia and Singapore, and manage regulatory submissions, responses, investigations, and presentations.

  • Work with the OR&C team and the Markets business on the integration and embedding of the ANZ I.AM framework.

  • Attend relevant business risk and governance forums, steering committee meetings, and other meetings as required, delivering clear opinions and required actions to improve risk management.

  • Collaborate with and influence other Institutional Division and Enterprise Operational Risk and Compliance teams and develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders to drive a proactive, consistent, and coordinated approach to non-financial risk management within Markets and across Institutional Division and Enterprise Risk.

What will you bring?
