About the Role
The Trade Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring that activities supporting superior relationship and trade transaction processing are provided to internal and external customers within suitable turnaround times and acceptable risk and compliance parameters. The incumbent will interact with both internal and external customers.
This senior relationship role will take the lead on execution of service delivery requirements for our Platinum Trade client relationships as well as transaction processing workflows across the Service team, ensuring document management controls & Trade 360 Queue oversight is well governed at all times. You will oversee support requirements of any bespoke or complex customer delivery requirements; and provision of assistance to wider Trade Operations team as required and directed by Line or Senior Management. You will also be a lead advisor across the Service team, expected to oversee any bespoke or complex customer delivery requirements.

What will your day look like?
As the Trade Senior Specialist you will:

Develop and utilise MIS data to understand customer trends/ performance as well as supporting revenue generating opportunities

Improvement of revenue generation via quality referrals to the Sales Team; Identification of cross-selling / and up-selling opportunities (e.g. Portal, financing and other trade products) gleaned through customer interaction and transactions processed

Understanding & responding to customer trade requirements and proactively delivering solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Provide accurate service by complying with bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and adhering to loss control procedures.

Effective queue management in Trade360 and timely and accurate handling of transactions between Spoke and GCC. Providing necessary information for processing and to ensure timely completion of transactions end-to-end.

Contribute to creation of a high performance culture and a diverse and engaged team through effective collaboration

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other Spoke staff and Trade Operations counterparts, Trade Sales, Trade Product, Relationship Managers, Markets, Retail and other internal stakeholders.

Ensuring that our customers Trade transactions are handled within the Bank’s Risk policies and parameters
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Exceptional knowledge of trade operational delivery requirements [transactional and accounting]. Sound knowledge of GCC and Spoke workflow & accountabilities including Trade360 & Transactive Trade (Trade Processing Platforms).

Excellent understanding of Trade and Supply Chain products including International rules; including ICC Rules / Publications, 600 [UCP], 522 [URC], 525 [URR]

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, has experience in leading both internal team and client meetings.

Excellent stakeholder management skills

Proven ability to implement growth opportunities for new and existing clients. Promoting these opportunities through relevant Sales lines, and includes analysing customer data to provide valuable insights and referrals.

Exceptional customer service skills; ability to interpret & influence service expectations, and translate same in expected outcomes for the customer. Ability to confidently engage, including face to face, internal and external customers. Proactive inputs to new client onboarding and issue management

Economic and Trade Sanctions - Compliance training and awareness of Trade Sanctions; including role specific and region specific content
