About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

As a Senior Stress Testing and Forecasting Analyst in our Team, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of credit stress testing and forecasting for ANZ’s Wholesale portfolios (Institutional and Commercial), strengthening the bank’s credit risk resilience through quantitative analysis. This role involves leading credit stress testing initiatives to assess the impact of economic downturns and emerging risks such as climate risk on ANZ’s Wholesale portfolio, and also delivering insights to strengthen portfolio resilience, while collaborating with stakeholders to support strategic decisions.

Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.

Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008
Role Type: 12 months fixed-term

Work Hours: Full time

What will your day look like?

  • Take part in conducting credit stress tests across various scenarios, like Industry-Wide Stress Tests and Group ICAAP, to help ANZ remain resilient in the face of changing economic conditions.
  • Forecast credit provisions and risk-weighted assets for the Wholesale portfolio, ensuring insights are timely and align with ANZ’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate across teams to explore innovative solutions for addressing climate risks, with a particular focus on exploring new methodologies to account for transition risk impacts on corporate customers.
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders across risk, finance and businesses, sharing insights and shaping data-driven decisions that influence strategic outcomes.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Growth mindset with the ability to learn and adapt quickly, supported by a solid foundation in credit risk concepts (e.g., capital & provisioning, and risk metrics).
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Practical knowledge of statistical modelling, quantitative forecasting models, financial analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in programming and data handling skills, with experience in R or SAS.
  • Tertiary qualification in an analytics-based degree (statistics, actuarial science, mathematics, finance, quantitative finance, engineering) is preferred.

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.

So why join us?
