About the Role

The Customer Digital Experience Tribe (CDX) is responsible for the ANZ App and Internet Banking (IB). The CDX Tribe provide customers with intuitive and iconic digital solutions to drive self-service and sales. Specialising in usability, accessibility, and cross digital channel synergies. Powered by exceptional engineering and experience design.

 

As a Lead – Test Automation Engineer your mission is to help deliver great user experience and ensure the performance, stability and reliability of the software applications we deliver. Accessibility, simplicity and customer focus of our applications will be at the top of your mind. You’re an engineer at heart and love coding, automation and CI/CD.

 

You’ll have attention to detail, a passion for quality and love working in a team of like-minded experts who, above all else, uphold ANZ’s ICARE values when working with each other. This role could work across multiple squads (including vendor-based squads) across run, fixed and change activities.

What will your day look like?

You will be part of an Agile team, understanding the requirements, scripting the test scenarios, automating tests, executing the tests, reporting defects and retesting. You will also be participating in Tribe level regression testing as part of a delivery cycle.

 

This role is accountable for:

  • Champion modern best practices & techniques as related to QA and automated testing frameworks

  • Collaborating with the product owners, engineers, analysts to identify risks early and help prevent and fix bugs as they arise from the outset.

  • Understanding customer needs and ensuring test cases are designed to meet acceptance criteria

  • Coaching engineers to have test driven development approaches to avoid coding defects

  • Designing test approaches and optimising test execution across functional and non-functional coverage

  • Identifying opportunities for testing continuous improvement and implementing solutions to perform more effective and efficient testing

  • Working with other test engineers to improve overall software quality including adherence to coding standards, testing standards, and related development practices

  • Ensuring the necessary hygiene and traceability for test case creation, script creation, test execution and defect logging in a tool system

  • Creating acceptance criteria and providing estimates for work

  • Influencing analysts and engineers to have a testing mindset by contributing to and/ or supporting analysis and design activities

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Test Strategy, Roadmap

  • Understanding of Software Test Life Cycle

  • Knowledge of test automation tools and processes

  • iOS Automation using Xcode and XCUITest

  • Knowledge of Android Studio and Espresso

  • API Automation using Supertest, Chai, Mocha

  • Languages: Java, Swift, Kotlin, Go.

  • Expertise in Mobile automation testing

  • Exposure to CI/CD tooling, Jenkins/Codefresh, Splunk, BDD

  • Knowledge of stubs and mocks with exposure to tools like MounteBank, TrafficParrot, Mockito etc.

  • Ability to apply knowledge of best practices and methods for test case development & test automation

  • Ability to understand complex software development processes from start to finish

  • Independent, positive & proactive approach to problem solving within a team
