About the Role
As a OR&C Manager in our Risk Australia Retail & Commercial, you’ll play a key role in helping to foster strong working relationships with the business and risk partners, provide insight and advice/guidance to business teams.
The role will require operating within defined parameters by leadership to support the delivery of the following objectives:

Governance across Risk Themes for coherence.

Independent review and challenge of risk identification.

Independent review and challenge of the control environment.
-
Independently advise and challenge risk assessments.

Provide oversight and opinion on I.AM framework embeddedness.

Provide governance as independent challenge to Line 1.

What will your day look like?
The role will build strong stakeholder management skills and be expected to develop in breadth skills and specialisation across one or more of the I.AM framework risk themes. Decision making will be within broad direction and boundaries.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Assist the Risk Officer to review and challenge I.AM framework activities (supported by actionable insights and opinions) including:
- Identification and assessment of applicable risks
- Adequacy of control environment to mitigate risks and meet policy requirement (individually and in aggregate) within Risk Appetite.
- Appropriateness of Treatments and actions to address Risk response
- Assessment of risk exposures and their incorporation in strategic planning discussions.
- Management assessment and response to Operational Risk Scenarios
- Adequacy of response to reportable events.
- The capability of Line 1 resources.

Participate in Business forums such as risk assessment workshops, to provide insight and advice, ensuring appropriate consideration of operational risk and compliance issues

Event Management: monitor and identify potential regulatory breaches, and inform Regulatory Relationship Owner delegates of these so they can notify regulators timely (except for regulators where this accountability sits with the business, e.g. Tax, OH&S, CPS234)

Assist the broader team to monitor risk profiles, operational risk and compliance incidents, audit findings, customer complaints, customer remediations, control testing, etc to identify potential compliance insights/issues

Identification and analysis of risk data to support risk-based decision making and associated procedures and tools
What will you bring?

- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence/negotiate change within boundaries
- Able to manage competing priorities and conflicting issues in a timely, professional and risk-based manner with the support of the team
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
- Business Report Writing
- Demonstrated Experience in Risk Management
- Understanding of Risk Management Principles
- Promote uplift in risk management capability, culture and awareness
- Knowledge of banking products, services and processes
‘Good to have’ knowledge, skills, and experiences
- NFR hub and other risk toolkits
- Experience in the frontline of the relevant business unit
- 5+ years’ experience in Operational risk and/or Compliance or related disciplines
- Event management
- Change risk management
- Financial and/or credit product management experience
- Technology risk assessment / audit experience
- Knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment (Financial Services and Credit sector)
Qualifications
- 5+ years financial services experience and relevant tertiary qualifications
