The Online Customer Platform (OCP) Data & Analytics team provides the essential service of driving data insights & analysis, visualisation, and better data decisions. Our team does this for a diverse range of stakeholders across Institutional and Wholesale, with our aim to empower ANZ to better serve our wholesale customers with prompt data insights, meet regulatory requirements, and ensure compliance to the Data standards and policies.
OCP Data & Analytics sits within the Service & Support (S&S) area of the Wholesale Credit Platform (WCP) team; a dynamic and exciting area tasked with providing analytics, reporting and data management controls across the platform.
We are looking for a highly skilled Associate with strong data analysis and engineering capabilities to join our Institutional Wholesale Credit Platform team. As a Data Analyst, you will use your analytical and technical ability to generate meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making across our institutional portfolio. You will work closely with business stakeholders, contribute to the development of automated data pipelines, and enhance our self-service analytics capabilities.
What will your day look like?
- Data Analysis & Insights: Deliver actionable insights by analysing complex data sets, interpreting trends, and presenting findings in clear and concise formats that support key decision-making.
- Data Engineering & Automation: Design, build, test and support scalable data pipelines and processes to streamline data ingestion, processing and automate reporting. Ensure data quality and reliability across all datasets.
- Dashboarding & Visualization: Develop and improve self-serve analytics solutions, including interactive dashboards, to empower stakeholders with accessible data insights using tools such as Qlik Sense or Tableau.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business teams to understand data needs, gather requirements, and offer strategic insights. Translate business goals into data-driven solutions and ease data access.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct data validation, testing, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of data outputs.
- Continuous Improvement: Find opportunities to improve data processes, enhance data governance, and set up best practices for data management within the team. Support the management of Business/technical Metadata, Mappings and Lineage is captured as per enterprise standards to ensure overall data management is robust.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience with SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis, and a solid foundation in data engineering concepts, including ETL processes, Data Modelling, and pipeline automation. Experience with Machine learning and AI technologies is a plus.
- Visualization Tools: Advanced skills in data visualization tools (Qlik Sense, Tableau) with the ability to create intuitive, impactful dashboards.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving abilities with a strategic approach to data analysis and a focus on delivering practical business insights.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for a variety of stakeholders.
- Preferred: Background in institutional or wholesale banking or experience in credit risk analysis. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) is a plus.
