About the Role
As an ASIC Reportability Specialist, you will be a critical player in investigating and assessing risk events raised by ANZ Australia Retail and Commercial divisions. Your main responsibility will be determining whether these events are reportable to ASIC, while ensuring that all decisions are made accurately and reported in a timely manner. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Unit SMEs, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders, to identify and validate facts, assess for ASIC reportability and provide inputs into ASIC submissions.
Your strong critical thinking, effective communication skills, and ability to navigate complex regulatory issues will be crucial in ensuring that the organization consistently meets its regulatory obligations and upholds high standards of risk management.

Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008. Flexible, can be based anywhere in Australia
What will your day look like?
As a ASIC Reportability Specialist, you are accountable for:
- Investigating risk events raised by the Australian Retail and Commercial teams, assessing the circumstances and impacts thoroughly.
- Assessing risk events to determine whether they show a breach of obligations and are reportable to ASIC, making clear decisions and providing detailed rationale for each assessment.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders, including Business Unit SMEs, Legal, Compliance, 2nd Line Risk & Compliance, and Systemic Issues teams, to gather necessary facts and apply relevant obligations accurately.
- Working closely with event case managers to ensure all risk event details are accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Utilising the NFR (Non-Financial Risk) system to document investigation outcomes and reportability conclusions.
What will you bring?

- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and judgment skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with experience working effectively across teams and levels within the organization.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills to handle multiple competing demands without compromising quality.
- Problem-solving expertise, especially in risk and compliance contexts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex matters clearly and concisely.
- Previous experience in a risk or assurance role, particularly within the financial services industry.
- Experience in investigative or case management roles, ideally in compliance or risk management.
- Familiarity with the I.AM (Identify, Act, Monitor) framework.
