ANZ Procurement plays a strategic role in shaping the Bank we're Building by partnering with the business to get the best from supplier relationships without compromising on cost and value. Our team plays a key role when it comes to realising value, helping ANZ to manage commercial risk, negotiating robust commercial outcomes, while helping protect ANZ’s reputation. From software and hardware, infrastructure, to services like consulting, marketing or materials – if you can see it, touch it or use it, we're typically involved in helping to source it.

 

As a Technology Procurement Manager in our Procurement function, you’ll be pivotal in supporting our vision to build meaningful partnerships with the business and create sustainable commercial value, effectively manage risk and make it easy to work with great suppliers. You will do this by being a trusted partner to the Business, the Technology Commercial team, and more broadly within Group Procurement, to develop sourcing and vendor management strategies, and deliver on strategic procurement initiatives.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?

As a Technology Procurement Manager, you will:

  • Be responsible for the performance of assigned category and spend portfolio, managing the end-to-end lifecycle including building and delivering pipeline, strategy development and contract and supplier sourcing

  • Drive commercial value for the business across both short and medium-term horizons while managing associated risks

  • Provide oversight, leadership and effective management of procurement intake triage responsibilities to ensure high standards of service delivery is maintained

  • Effectively manage the performance of category spend portfolio, and provide critical support to the Head of Procurement Partnering to ensure value delivery and business agility

  • Develop /deploy robust category & sourcing plans that integrate business and corporate strategy supported by appropriate digital enablement and category intelligence

  • Act as a Project Lead for strategic or major deals, and collaborate broadly with key stakeholders including Group Procurement to develop and implement category strategies and sourcing plans

  • Provide commercial advice, negotiation, and contract drafting on  assigned contracts/Master Services Agreement,.

  • Provide guidance for ongoing management of vendors including spend analysis and SRM.

  • Partner with the New Zealand Outsourcing and Governance team and the Legal team to ensure adoption of best practice, and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Proven people leadership experience and demonstrated ability to build and lead a high-performing, collaborative team

  • Previous experience working as a Procurement Category Manager or Procurement Portfolio Lead role in a Technology or Digital environment- including IT Professional Services/ Service Delivery.

  • Superior problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate and work with pace in highly complex and ambiguous situations

  • Superior communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to foster and maintain robust commercial relationships with suppliers and external vendors

  • Ability to understand risks and implement appropriate control measures

  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to analyse cost vs risk trade-offs effectively

  • Experience aligning category and sourcing/contracting strategy to business objectives

  • Experience with contract drafting and development of service levels.

  • Sound understanding of supply market dynamics, third party risk market trends and best practice relevant to assigned spend areas.
