Mō te tūranga - About the role
Join a dynamic and forward-thinking team as Director of the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and play a key role in managing and growing essential client relationships. This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to make a significant impact within a market-leading financial institution, where your expertise will directly contribute to client success and business growth. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our strong market position with existing clients, ensuring long-term satisfaction and fostering lasting partnerships.
In this role, you will actively target new customers and pursue origination opportunities to drive revenue growth in the FIG sector. As a market-facing leader, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, coordinating potential transactions with the Markets and Transaction Banking teams both locally and globally. Building trusted advisor relationships and collaborating closely with the broader FIG NZ network will be key to your success. You’ll also work alongside the FIG product team to ensure customer strategies are executed to the highest standard, consistently maintaining best practice in client coverage and delivering outstanding service at every touchpoint.

To succeed in this role, we’re looking for a motivated, strategic leader with a passion for financial services and client relationship management.
You will ideally bring:
- Proven ability to manage and grow a large and active customer portfolio.
- A driven, solution-focused mindset with a dedication to finding opportunities for FIG business growth.
- Strong understanding of loan market trends, and knowledge of Transaction Banking (TB) and Markets products within the Financial Institutions sector.
- An appreciation of the regulatory environment in which our customers operate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to collaborate and build lasting relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- A commitment to upholding ANZ’s values and culture, aligning with our standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- A passion for mentoring and developing junior talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the wider team.
